Among the audience was the current National JALT President - I think the first time that this has ever happened...so while he was here, Jim asked him to present Yanissa with her Cambridge ESOL Certificate for K.E.T. (she passed "with Merit") and we are all very proud of her achievement. Unfortunately, Hokuto & Tomoro had other plans and were unable to attend the short ceremony. We gave them their certificates last week, and as you can see they also look very pleased - well done boys!

How does Craig Winters get 25,000 dollars out of Meg? Their telephone conversation....
Craig: Hi, Meg. How are you?
Meg: Craig, I'm fine. But I want to see you. When can we meet?
Craig: I don't know. I want to see you, too, but things aren't easy at the moment.
Meg: Why? What's the matter?
Craig: It's my mother. I can't leave her because her legs are very bad and she can't walk far. She needs a new car, but I don't have the money just now.
Meg: But Craig, that's easy! I can give you the money.
Craig: No, no. I can't take money from you, Meg.
Meg: Of course you can! How much do you need? 15,000? 20,000? Just tell me. You can have it tomorrow.
Craig: Meg, you're wonderful. How about 25,000? Just for two or three months, you understand.

2. After ten years Jackie came out of prison and married Tom Briggs. They lived very quietly and they didn't have much money, but they were happy.
3. Roger lived in Molly's house. He built ten houses in the garden and was soon a very rich man. Diane found a husband, but she didn't love him. She married him because he had a lot of money.
4. Jackie never saw Tom Briggs again because he sold his farm to Roger and went to live Australia. Jackie never married, and so she never found love.
5. The Clarkson family are nicer people now. After their mother died, they learnt something- they learnt that love is more important than money.
I agree with "Love" is more important than money!! I understand money is necessary to live, but money dosen't make us happy. It is important for me how to use money for.

It's made of metal. The plane is small so it is light.
It takes off anywhere, especially in the backyard, and it can land anywhere.
It can take six people to space!!
It uses bio-gas, which is good for the Earth.

I took the photo in the summer of 2012 when I was on day trip in Tokyo.
We were in Ichigaya ,and I met Kyoko's parents first time. Manabu (my son) and Kyoko married on 30th June.
We had lunch in a Chinese restaurant where Princess Masako and her family ate.
I keep this photo in my mobile. On a grey, rainy day in Matsumoto, I just have to look at it and then memories of a happy couple come back, and I wish them happiness.

When we arrived, we looked at the Kokaichi-jido. Then we saw the Lion King. It was so great. After the concert I was crying!!
After that, we went to the metal factory. We saw red hot metal.
Then we went see the Sumo. It was so fun and we were shouting "Hakuho!"
After the Sumo, we went to dinner. I sat next to Kotaro & Kota. We were laughing and talking a lot. When my stomach got full we went to the hotel. In the end, I had a shower and I had a pillow fight with my friends, and I slept late. ZZzzzzzz.

After we have become familiar with new words and practiced using them in different contexts in the workbooks...
|Image via CrunchBase|
After we have corrected the teacher's silly reading mistakes...
After we have found the page for certain words...
Then we are about ready to read out loud - some more than others, obviously, and reading to an audience (even friends) is a performance with fraught issues such as pronunciation, speed and nerves. Getting it 100% right is not as important as having a go - but it does help the teacher identify any little issues which silent reading clearly doesn't.
My super enthusiatic Friday team love showing off, and why not! They are making excellent progress and my hat is off!

|Earthquakes in Japanese Religion (Photo credit: timtak)|
I think the most common emergency situation in my country is earthquakes. If there is an earthquake, I will go under neath the table and wait for earthquake to stop. Then I will go outside.
Actually, we had an earthquake yesterday, but I didn't notice.

It's great that you are coming to Matsumoto. It's a more beautiful city than London, and it's less historical than London. It's in central Nagano, in central Japan, about three hours by car, train and bus from Tokyo.
There is a castle in Matsumoto. I think it's one of the most historic buildings in Japan, so a lot of people from other prefectures visit it every year. Matsumoto is surrounded by mountains, so it is famous for skiing in winter.
When you come to Matsumoto, please tell me soon.

To the Persian
I am leaving this letter for you, because once you were my friend. Now of course, I have only enemies. People scream when they see my face. I am clever, it is true, but no woman can ever love me. And how can a man live without love?
When I was a chled, I was very unhappy. My mother never kissed me. She didn't want to look at me because I was so ugly. And years later, when I was a man, I did many terrible things. I know tha, and I am sorry know. But I did one good thin in my life. Christine is free. She can marry the Vicomte and be happy.
But I can never forget her wonderful voice, and I cannot live without her.
And so, goodbye.

Dear Mrs Dinon
You don't know me, but I met your husband soon after he escaped from prison. I found him in my field, took him to my house, and gave him saome good hot food. Today the newspaper say that the soldiers killed him. I am so sorry , Mrs Dinon. Your husband wasn't a murderer, or an enemy of the country. Everybody knows that, and we don't listen to the government. Your husband wanted to change things and give us all better life. He was a good man.
From your friend
I don't know who is real murderer, but it's dangirous.
