A Review of 'The King's Speech'

Colin Firth and Helena Bonham Carter
The King's speech
Historical drama

The story is about the King of the United Kingdom George VI. He had a strong stammer and he was terribly distressed by that. David Seidler wrote the scenario. The film is set in England and starts in 1925. His speech as the Prince of York disappointed people. He visited Lionel Logue, a speech-language-hearing therapist in London to ask him to correct his stammering...

Colin Firth stars as George VI, Helena Bonham Carter plays the role of his wife Elizabeth, and Geoffry Rush plays the role of Logue. I love the acting of Colin Firth, being distressed, losing confidence and fearing speech. I also love Geofferey Rush. His acting makes me feel that he is a real person not a character. This is a really good film.

After reading - A review of "The King's Speech"

I've seen the film "The King's Speech". I liked it, because I like the actor (Coin Firth).
The story was about King George 6th, a younger brother of Edward. (We read a book of him "The love of a King") When King George 6th was a child, he was troubled with speaking (stammering), so he was a shy boy. But his father was very strict. And his older brother Edward was a free man, he choose Love instead of to be a King. So, unexpectedly he became a King of England. He still had trouble of stammering, but as a King he had to make speeches many times.

His wife Elizabeth was worried about him and took him to Lionel, a specialist of stammering. But Lionel was not a medical doctor yet and didn't have much experience. King George 6th was a difficult person and Lionel was a obstinate person, so at first it didn't work well. But it was a last chance for both of them to get over their life. They tried very hard, and gradually his speaking became better. At that time England was involved a war. He had to declare it on the radio to the people of England. Finally he could make a very good speech without any trouble as a King. People could be proud of their King. At the end of the movie, the war began with his speech, so this is not a happy ending story.

Bridget Jones's Diary

Dear all,
I love this book "Bridget Jones's Diary"and the films.
This story progressed like a diary who wrote over one year of Bridget Jones's life.
She is a very likeable character and women can easily identify with her problems. For example ,many single women in their thirties have friends like Bridget's,who tell them that they must get married and have childrenbefore they get too old.Bridget was played brilliantly in both Bridget Jones films by Renee Zwllweger, who is not British, but Texan!
The main male characters were played by Colin Firth and Hugh Grant.
This book's story and films were different story.
Her boss Daniel Cleaver was a wanton man,but childhood friend Mark Darcy is a sincere man.
I think she loves Mark Darcy and an excellent year's progress!
I recommend this book and films.
Please check it.
