Kidnap

Kidnap!
This story is set in America. The main characters are Tom and Anastasia. Tom is an artist and
Anastasia is a movie star's daughter. One day they are kidnapped. There are three kidnappers and they took them to the woods. But Tom and Anastasia survived because the girl's bodyguard called the police. The police found them and they could catch the kidnappers. So it had a happy ending.

Thanks for reading.

The Big Story

Mai has just finished reading The Big Story. This is her book review:

The Big Story is set in Venice. There are no roads in Venice, but there are many gondolas. It is a very beautiful city.

The story is kind of action. It is about business deals and love. The main character of this story is Rosie. She is a journalist.

The story is exciting because characters fought on the gondolas. It makes me feel uneasy just to see it.

I recommend this book because it's moving and exciting!

Not just "A Pretty Face"

Jim: Mai, you have just read "A Pretty Face" - well done - did you enjoy the book?
Mai: Yes,I did, because it's exiting.
J: How?
M: A woman had wig and glasses
J: I see. If I wear a wig and glasses will I be exciting too?
M: May be.
J: Do have a wig I could borrow?
M: No,I don't.If you go to a wig shop,you can get one.
J: Tell me more about the story, please.
M: The main character is Zoe. She is a student, and actless. She was angry with a boy, so he wrote a bad story about her.
J: That's not very nice! Would you do that?
M: If I were in her place, I'd be angry too.
J: Is Zoe a cool person?
M: Yes, she is, because she is wonderful. She can do lots of things, like work in a book store and act on stage.
J: Would you like to be an actress?
M: No I wouldn't, because I don't like standing in front of people. I want a job where I don't meet a lot of people. I want to work in a small breadshop.
J: That sounds lovely - can you bake?
M: No, I can't...
J: Yesterday was Friday 13th - did anything bad happen to you?
M: No, it didn't.
J: Are you superstitious?
M: No, I'm not. I am a little bit crazy though.
J: I think you are very sensible! Thank you for talking to me today - I will let you get back to your studying; have a good class with Tana next week :)

My best friend.

My best friend is Mai (since elementary school). We’re really different. Mai has got dark hair, but I have light hair – I dyed it. I am active but Mai is a little graceful. We’ve both got dark brown eyes. Mai is a bit taller than me.

We’ve got the same interests. We both like playing tennis. Mai plays tennis very well, but I don’t play tennis so well. We really enjoy it. Also, we both like playing the piano. We started playing the piano at the elementary school. She plays better than me. She plays in concerts.

Mai is good-looking. We both have a boyfriend. We sometimes have a good time hanging out together. We like shopping and love talking. We don’t like studying but a year ago studied hard in the library.

G'day Matt

Today we welcome Matt to our ranks. I have known Matt for several years, and it's about time he joined Luna's teaching staff. I should thank Jon for reminding me.

Matt will be teaching most of our Saturday classes for us; we are hoping he'll be able to do so for a good while. Like Yuki & I, Matt also has a young child to look after. Unlike Jim, Matt can actually speak Japanese. However, Matt is an Aussie...

Matt has already met our Saturday roll-call of stars - here he is with Ayako and Mai-chan. Ayako is deaf, which is why she's covering her eye! (Actually, it was funny; these two are old-time buddies but studying independently. They wanted to gossip about their new teacher but couldn't - Matt & I were listening. What did they do? Bloody sign language!)

Saturday at Luna - looks good!
