School trip to England - Yuya's report

I went to England for about 2 weeks in April. It was my school trip. The flight took about 12 hours and I didn't sleep so I was exhausted.

English: White Cliffs of Dover, England - the ...

First, I went to Cambridge. The main event at there was to learn from the students of Cambridge University. The program is called Blue Bridge Education and I had a great time because the students were very funny and clever. They told us the importance of body languages, eye contacts and big voice. It is quite hard for me, but I'm trying to do them when I take communications, even in Japanese. We also did a shopping with the Cambridge students and I bought many teas.

Next, we went to Dover, where we were really lucky because there weren't any clouds in the sky. Dover is at the south end of the UK, and it is near France. We saw a gravel beach, blue sky and the white cliffs all at once, so it was awesome & beautiful.

After that, we went for a sightseeing trip in Canterbury. I bought many things there, like T-shirts, chocolates, and some drinks, because they were so cheap!

The final place we went to was the capital city, London. I stayed there for about a week, and I felt the difference of the scenery between it an Tokyo. In Tokyo, there are many kinds of tall buildings, but in London, of course, there are also tall buildings but not only that. There were also many kinds of old-fashioned buildings. Because of that, we could easily feel at home there.

The food in the UK was very delicious. Before this trip, I heard that British food is not tasty. So I was a bit nervous. However, we didn't have any problems. The best food was fish and chips, which I ate at a restaurant called "Garfunkel's Restaurant". The fried fish, with some fresh lemon, was absolutely fabulous.

Finally, I will talk about where I stayed. First in Cambridge, I had a home stay for the first time in my life. The host family were very kind, but the food was a bit oily. In London, I also had a home stay. The host mother's food was delicious but she was very strict. For example, when we went for a drive, she shouted at any driver who didn't give way to her. Nevertheless, while I was staying there I was touched by her kindness, so in the end I was very sad to say goodbye. So where did we stay on the rest of the days? Of course, we stayed at a hotel. We were very free during the hotel stay, so it was a lot of fun and I really wanted to stay there.

After reading Mystery at Lion Rock - my trip to France & Italy

Write about a (school) trip...

I went to Italy and France with my friends after the graduation from the university in 2005. It was good for me to have two weeks trip with the cheap price as we were still students.
We visited a lot of famous and beautiful buildings like church and museums.

In Italy, we were very excited to go around the locations of Roman Holiday like Spanish Square, The mouth of Truth and Trevi Fountain. We enjoyed doing the same action as the movie.

In France, the most impressive one was the Louvre. I was not very familiar with the arts, but there were many arts that I learned in the text book. Especially, I was moved to see Mona Lisa. It was much smaller than expected, and there were many people around the art, but I felt the great presence from the drawing.

I was also looking forward to seeing the Mont-Saint-Michel and its Bay, but it was cloudy, so I hope that I can see it in sunny day next time.

We also enjoyed eating many delicious pizza and sweets in those countries. I can eat most of them even if I am in Japan, but I felt they were special when I had in Italy and France.

My school trip - Tokyo

The Lion King (musical)

On July 19th I got up at 7 o'clock. First, I had some breakfast. Then we got on the bus and we went to the Lion King theatre in Tokyo.

When we arrived, we looked at the Kokaichi-jido. Then we saw the Lion King. It was so great. After the concert I was crying!!

After that, we went to the metal factory. We saw red hot metal.

Then we went see the Sumo. It was so fun and we were shouting "Hakuho!"

After the Sumo, we went to dinner. I sat next to Kotaro & Kota. We were laughing and talking a lot. When my stomach got full we went to the hotel. In the end, I had a shower and I had a pillow fight with my friends, and I slept late. ZZzzzzzz.

Thank you! See you next week!

My School Trip to Tokyo

My school went on a trip to Tokyo. We got to school at 5:30 on Sunday morning, and we arrived at the hotel for lunch. It was fun in the bus because my friends and I played games.

In the afternoon we went to see a musical, called Lion King. It was very exciting because there were lots of animal characters. My favourite character was Simba, as he sang the best songs.

After that, we went on a water bus and I saw my old friend Shota; he knew we were going there and he could see us because he lives in Tokyo. It was nice to see Shota, and we talked about lots of stuff. In the evening, we ate at a delicious hamburger restaurant (not MacDonalds).

Me and my friends stayed up until midnight in the hotel. We talked, watched TV and played games, and had a lot of fun. The room was big, and the three of us had a bed each; the hotel was also big, clean, but very expensive.

The next morning, we went to see Sumo (wrestling) in a `Dohyo`. The sumo wrestlers were huge and strong; the fights were awesome. Then we went up Tokyo Tower, which was very scary. The elevator was very big, and my whole class could go in it! In the tower, there's a glass floor where you can see down and that was scary. The sight was beautiful. We ate dinner in a Chinese restaurant in one of the floors half-way up (or down) the tower. The food was yummy!

My friends and I were very tired, because of the last night, so went to bed early.

On the last day, we went to Asakusa, and saw a 'kaminarimon' a kind of massive lantern in the gate of a shrine. There were lots of shops where we could buy manju and lots of other stuff. I loved Asakusa 'cos there were lots of stuff to buy - I got some straps for my family and me. We got back to school at about 6pm.

I enjoyed my school trip; Asakusa was the best, but I also really enjoyed The Lion King. I am very tired today so I didn't read my book again. Jim is a bit mad.
