Sayuri's memorable train journey
| Join the queue! |
Suddenly there was an announcement that all the operations would stop as the station got a suspicious message from anonymou. They asked to cancel the journeys if it's possible. Some people made a quick decision and left the queues immediately but most of the tourists stayed there still as if they hadn't heard any news, so we kept in line anyway.
We didn't have so much information from the station but no one complained. If it were in Japan, everyone would ask many questions and most of all, the railway would explain in detail from time to time.
As time went by, people here still seemed to care nothing and some people even started singing and dancing. Two girls came up to the head of the lines and showed the cardboard 'Smile!' with their huge smile. Those would never happen in Japan. Thinking about Covid19, those responses were significant of the attitude towers the situation, I reckon.
| Meals on Wheels |
They gave us a train swap boarding pass for any seats. Fortunately we could sit on the same seat as we had booked, a table for two. The Eurostar moved quietly and soon an unexpected make-up dinner was served!
The train hour was rather short, but it was a long and unforgettable train journey.

World Cup Prediction for Semi-Finals
Also, England will get to the final. Modric might play well, but will continue 0-0 at the end of 90 minutes. In extra time, VAR could be used for a disallowed goal but in the end there won't be any goals. In the penalties shoot out I think Harry Kane should definitely score his penalty, England will beat Croatia as 3-2.

After reading Mystery at Lion Rock - my trip to France & Italy
Write about a (school) trip...
I went to Italy and France with my friends after the graduation from the
university in 2005. It was good for me to have two weeks trip with the
cheap price as we were still students. We visited a lot of famous and beautiful buildings like church and museums.
In Italy, we were very excited to go around the locations of Roman Holiday like Spanish Square, The mouth of Truth and Trevi Fountain. We enjoyed doing the same action as the movie.
In France, the most impressive one was the Louvre. I was not very familiar with the arts, but there were many arts that I learned in the text book. Especially, I was moved to see Mona Lisa. It was much smaller than expected, and there were many people around the art, but I felt the great presence from the drawing.
I was also looking forward to seeing the Mont-Saint-Michel and its Bay, but it was cloudy, so I hope that I can see it in sunny day next time.
We also enjoyed eating many delicious pizza and sweets in those countries. I can eat most of them even if I am in Japan, but I felt they were special when I had in Italy and France.

My nightmare journey - France
My nightmare journey was in France last year with my girlfriend and her friend. We went to our friend’s wedding party in Bordeaux. We had some plans to go sightseeing in Paris for two days.
The party was great, and we had a lot of fun. We left our friend’s house and went to Bordeaux airport. We had to arrive one hour before check in time, but we couldn’t, because I remembered the wrong time. Therefore, we missed the flight.
I was so blue in Bordeaux airport. Fortunately, we could get the next flight if we paid fifty Euros extra. We could go back to Paris, and we enjoyed ourselves there!
You can imagine the situation!

Postcard from Saint Paul de Vence (France)
Hello everybody (Luna, NHK, Sayuri)!I'm staying in an old village in France. It's at the top of a small mountain, like a hill. The houses, which were built in the 16th Century, are impressive. It is impossible to turn into the village in a car, so it is tough to stay in a hotel inside the village with big luggage. There are lots of tourists in the narrow streets. I prefer Roquebrune, which is a tiny village where we stayed 2 days before we came here. I was able to be like a villager. *Sorry lots of mistakes! Teruki
