English language school in the heart of the Japanese Alps, and English language learners sharing their experiences online. Teachers post regular items about teaching, learning tools, events in the school, their day to day experiences living & working in a foreign country. Students post on whatever takes their fancy - book reports, festivals in home towns, postcards from business trips etc. A little Brit of England in the guts of Japan!

Post card from Hotaka Shrine
Dear Jim-sensei,
Today is New Year's day. I'm at Hotaka Shrine with my friend who used to live near my house.
We are praying for health and good luck, then we bought New Year's fortune.
I spent New Year's Eve with my family and watched TV, drank wine and ate sushi.
After eating Soba, we went to the shrine near my house, and prayed for our health and good luck in 2019.
This year, I plan to go to Paris. I will go to The Louvre and see some of my favorite paintings.
If possible, I will also go to Italy to eat Pasta and Pizza.
Best wishes,
Reiko
