Dear Jim,
I’m writing this card at the Strand Hotel. I had a terrible time in Stockholm. I came here by the business trip. I was working here with Monika, who was an SMI member. We were investigating the murder. She refused to have dinner together on the first night that arrived here. Next day, we looked for evidence around the pond. We dived 3 times under the water. Monika found a small piece of metal, like the top of pen. I thought it was no good. I told her that she threw it away, but she did not obey my instruction. However the glacier was beautiful and the air was clean. I ate some great food. Consequentially, I had enjoyed my visit here.

Which character do you like the most? why?

There are many appealing characters in the story. For example, Blom, Bruce, Carsson, and Cabind. (Chapman and Vitjord are not appealing)
Above all, My most favorite character is Monika in the story, because she was twenty-six years old pretty woman with blonde hair, and she loved her work, and sometimes she fight against strong enemies even if several mens. But my most favorite point about Monika is to wear bikini for her work.

I think that her bikini style is very appealing. In summer, I would like to swin with her. It would be exiciting for me. So, I like Monika. Yoichi

(Q3) Write Monika's diary for August 9th.

Today I had a good thing and a bad thing.Today was the third day of the Stockholm Water Festival.There was a flying show. I looked forward to this show from last year.I trained very hard everyday. I was chosen for main demonstration of acrobatic flying.I flew today. The crowd watched me and waved me. Acrobatic flying was big success. I was happy and happy.However, after flying, I had a very bad thing.When I was walking near the City Hall, young man talked to me.He was wearing T-shirt which said 'MAD ABOUT FOOTBALL!'.I tried to run away from him. He followed me for a long time.Then he touched me. Next I pushed and kicked him into the river.It was a worst thing for me today.

Hi, homework season has started again!!

First of all, I'd like to give you a kind of tips. As you know, audio CD is attached to the book, this time. So I tried listening to the CD while reading the book. I found that was very comfortable and very helpful for me to read the book faster. I'd recommend you do it.

[Q(2)] Think about Monika. What kind of clothes does she wear? What music and films does she like? Where does she go on holiday? What are her favourite foods?

I imagine she is slim and good figure woman. She usually wears suits with tight skirt and white shirt while working, and wears slim jeans and sweater or jacket in her private time.

She listens to classics to calm down her mind. Her favourite movie is adventure movies and, of course, spy movie like "James Bond" or "Mission impossible".

In her holiday, she goes shopping to buy a stylish clothes as well as most of women like, and has a break at tasteful cafe. She has a sweet tooth.
