City profile: Home town – Matsumoto, Nakayama

• Geography

Nakayama is located to the south-east of the urban district of Matsumoto City.

It is under the Hachibuse mountain. My home town is a laidback country town.

• When to go

Nakayama has an ancient tomb “Koubouyama”. You can hike there by walk. The most popular time to visit is Spring, when cherry blossoms bloom and it looks stunning.

• What to see

Nakayama is surrounded by mountain.

• Autumn leaves: When you come to here in autumn, you can see changed leaves. It is stunning.
• Garbage mountain: Dismantling Operator handle industrial waste treatment
• Archaeological Museum: There is a house in Jomon period. It has Stone tools in the Jomon period.

1. I like this story because a lot of friends of Red Dog are very kind.

2. The person I liked best in this story was Patsy and Nancy because they protected Red Dog from caretaker. Caretaker Mr and Mrs Cribbage hate Dog very much.

3. For me, the funniest moment in the story was when Red Dog be friend with Red Cat who lives in caravan park. At first Red Cat didn't like Dog.

Do you agree or disagree with these sentences? Why?

If kidnappers take a child and ask for money, they should be given what they want so that the child is safe.

I agree with this sentence. I think most important thing is safe of child. At first, we must rescue the child form kidnappers even if we pay big money. Of course, we must prepare to arrest the kidnappers. For instance, record the number of each money. After rescued the child, the police should arrest the kidnappers by their best. If it is necessary, the police use guns and attack to the kidnappers. I think kidnap is the worst crimes.

Wild Country

I enjoyed "Wild Country". When I was reading "Wild Country", I remembered my old experiences.

I like climbing a mountain since I was a university student. Why do I like? View is wonderful. Flowers are beautiful. Air is very clear. I was opened from the stress of usual life. Climbing the mountain is different of usual life. It is not only happy. We have to live for a few days at the party composed of several people. Sometimes, we don't agree with each other. Sometimes, it is raining everyday. Sometimes, the route is dangerous. I think that these hardship make our trust strong.

After Reading Question:What is the worst weather you have seen?

It was long long rain in 2006 July.Big mud flow destroyed many house and a few (7 or 8) people died in Okaya city. That time I lived in Shimosuwa town which is in the next in Okaya City. My house was near the river To-gawa. This 2 pictures which I took are the river To-gawa. The river seemed to overflow at any moment.

A lot of trunk road stopped. Therefore, the company became one day rest. Next day, I went to work from Shimosuwa to Matsumoto. But highway closed at 11:00 am. There was an instruction to people who lived in Suwa, "go back home". Of course, me too.

I left work at 12:00. Every cars concentrated on Route20 (shiojiri-toge). The traffic jam occurred. I got home about 4:30 pm. It would arrive in 30 minutes if the usual.

It was the worst weather I have seen.

I had read this book,Which was very interesting.

What is the worst weather you have seen? (Q2.)

There was a heavy snowfall in the Matsumoto and Shiojiri in Jan 1998. There was the snow of about 70 cm in a day. The next day, my company became a special holiday. This snow was record in the Matsumoto district meteorological observatory. It is the first case for me. It was a snow shoveling even if my company became the holiday. The kerosene of a heater was gone and I went shopping on foot to the petrol station. It was very heavy. It was a serious special holiday.

E.T

I read "E.T" for three weeks at the end of Dec 2007. Because I have never watched this movie, it was a little bit difficult for me to understand the relationship of characters. I wrote my thinking that I looked at the photo on page 34 in the book.

1. What is happening ?
The boys rode away with E.T by bike to the forest in order to take him to his spaceship.
2. What is going to happen ?
E.T is putting up his finger and the bikes are going up into the sky. Five bikes fly over the police, their cars and over the houses.
3. What is E.T thinking ?
E.T is thinking of Elliot like a brother and he wants to go back to his star with Elliot.

Mr.Bean

Because Mr. Bean is so funny and strange, I recommend to read this book for the person who feels tired on his daily life. I was surprised to be able to read this story with no break!

Which "accidents" did you think were funny in the story ? Write about three of them.
1. The accident which Mr. Bean painted a face on Mrs,Whistler's face.
2. The accident which Mr. Bean picked up the bullet from a man's stomach.
3. The accident which Mr. Bean was held by policeman in the Airport.
I felt very funny that little things escalated to big accidents.
