My favourite dish - nikujaga

One of my favourite dishes is 'nikujaga'. I alsways made it for my children when they were home. I use a lot of ginger.

First, cut the potatoes, carrot & onions, then slice ginger.

Fry the pork and everything in oil in a pot, add cold water, boil everything and simmer, adding soy sauce, sugar, mirin and sake.

New Yorkers - after reading

 Write about your experience doing a menial job eg waiting or waitressing

I did a part-time job in a Sushi restaurant when I was a university student. I worked there as a waitress for two years. It was my first job. When I got the salary first time, I was so glad and bought cakes for my family.

My job was to get the orders from customers, serve the meals to them and wash the dishes. I liked to serve the meals to customers because the meals looked so delicious and the customers were glad to see the meals.

In the weekend, many customers came to the restaurant and it was much crowed. I was so busy and could not have a rest, but I worked very hard as it was better than I had nothing to do. I paid attention so that the customers enjoyed their meal without awaiting our service for a long time.

My forgettable memory in the part-time job is that a sushi chef cooked to celebrate my birthday. I am not good at cooking, so I tend to like the man who cooks well. If the sushi chef did not get married and were much younger, I might fall in love with him.

There are a lot of sushi restaurants in Japan, and they sell delicious raw fishes on top of some rice. You can also find noodle restaurants, in many towns.They sell many kinds of noodles like, ramen noodles.We eat them with a special soop.

FAST FOOD:
Most towns have lots of hamburger shops, which are cheap and fast.There are many kinds of drinks in there
so, lots of people go there in hot days.

CAFES:
 These usually sell hot and cold drinks, of course, but not alcohol.They also sell sandwiches, cakes, cookies,
and salads.Usually there's a smoking area so, it's good for non-smokers. 

BARS:

There are many kinds of alcoholic drinks in Japanese bars, but not only alcoholic drinks. There are non-alcoholic cocktails as well. Children can't go into them.

SUPERMARKETS:
If you want to buy food or drinks, you can do it here. However, if you want to buy something soon, you can
go to a convenience store. There are lots of convenience stores in Japan. They sell a lot of kinds of of things like pens and lights as well as food.
