Reminiscing about...Snap Cafe, HCMC, Vietnam

When I was younger, we often went to the Snap Cafe in Ho Chi Minh City, in Vietnam, for lunch. It's a
cafe which has a playing area.

I think we walked there, but now I have to use the plane because I live in Japan.

Snap Cafe is not different now. The ice cream shop I loved is still there and playing area looked the same, when I went back there three years ago.

Snap Cafe today is a cool place for families. I hope it continues running.

Nanaha's Haiku - "Swallows"

 Swallows flying fast

Catching insects as they swoop

They make summer days

I chose "swallows" because I like them. Swallows are so cool They fly a long long way to build nests under roofs in my town. I miss them when they go away.

I like swallows. They have thin black wings, small black claws and beaks. They have red throats and faces, and white bodies. 

They are small; 10 - 24cm, and weigh 10 - 60g. Swallows live all over the world, and they make small mud nests under rooves. They have four or five chicks.

Swallows eat insects, but not stinging ones. They find food when they are flying. They can fly fast and well.

I like swallows because they are little, but they fly nicely. I like to see them in the summer.

Spring

After reading The Selfish Giant, by Oscar Wilde (OUP Dominoes graded reader version), a young reader imagines the character of Spring...think she came up with a fine piece of imaganiation (and writing, and picture!).

Spring has short brown hair and blue eyes. She is about twenty-five years old and she wears a pink t-shirt and a light green skirt.

I her hands she has lots of flowers and baby rabbits. She plants the seeds and brings showers.

She lives in a cherry blossom tree by the river.

She is very kind, cheerful, and friendly.

I saw big bells ringing. I was close to them and scared.

My favourite bug is a butterfly. Butterflies are small. I like black & white butterflies. You can see beautiful butterflies at my garden.

My favourite animal is a dolphin. Dolphins are light blue and big. You can see a dolphin in the ocean. Dolphins eat fish. Dolphins are beautiful and smart.
