The Canterville Ghost and Other Stories

I thought this book is horror story before I read this book. Now I think this book is a kind of humors story.
My favorite story is "THE CANTERVILLE GHOST". I love Americans who does reasonable thinking. They weren't afraid of the ghost, and opposed to the ghost with a modern tool. I was amusing their behavior, and sympathized with the ghost. Finally the ghost went to the heaven. I thought that it meant the end of the old age. I thought the ghost was the symbol of old age, and American's were symbol of new age.
The character who I liked best is Virginia. She was kind to the ghost and courageous. The ghost thanked her in the heaven, I wish.
By the way, I have read only one short story of Oscar Wilde. It was "The Happy Prince". I read it in English class when I was junior high school student. I thought it was very heart-warming story, but these stories have a lot of sarcasm, so I was surprised these stories wrote same writer.

Tales of Horror

I read Tales of Horror. This book has three contents. They are Horror stories. I introduce The Judge's House.

Malcolm Malcollmson was a student at college. He wanted to study hard for his examinations. But his house was always noisy. So he rent a house to study hard.

The house which he rent was a ghost house but he didn't mind. There were many rats in the house. There was a enomurous rat in it. It was a ghost who was owner of the house. He was a cruel judge.

Finally, Malcolm was died by judge.

Malcom was very foolish man. He listend to a rumor of the judge's house. If I were him, I didn't rent the judge's house.

Room 13 and Other Ghost Stories

I read Room13 and Other Ghost Stories.

This book has some stories. Some stories are very interesting for me, but THE MAZE is not interesting.

I can't understand to read THE MAZE. People couldn't go out the maze. There are some creature in maze. Why are people go out in maze? Ledy Wardrop puts her handkerchief on a tree on the right-hand side of the path. After that she have come this way again. But her handkerchief is on the left-hand side. I couldn't understand this reason.

This story is very difficult to understand its contents.

The Canterville Ghost (and other stories)

At the first I guessed this story was frightening and hoped so, but not freighting at all. The Ghost was so poor and misery guy. He couldn't frightened all Otis's family and was helped to go to heaven by the daughter who lived in the house. The children will enjoy this funny story.

I spent 3 hours to read this book. It was not easy for me to read the book. I try to read the next book faster than this book.

The Phantom Airman by Allan Frewin Jones

I read about The Phantom Airman by Allan Frewin Jones. It's central characters are Regan and Frankie and Jack and Tom. They are same central characters of Unquiet Graves which I read last week.

After Reading: Terry Bowles read his grandfather's diary and he discovered something - his grandfather was a traitor. He was a spy for the Germans and they gave him diamonds to spy other code which prove that Squadron Leader Leighbridge-Smith was a traitor.

Unquiet Graves

I have felt comically before I read the story. because firstly I have thought that "Unquiet graves" is "Enjoyable graves" and a lot of ghost appear in the story.

But after I read the story, I recognized the story was horror story fully. I was frightened.

I don't know whether the story was fiction. The story completed very well and interesting. It's like real story so I was very frightened.

Frankie was possessed with ghost of Eleanor. She is key person in the story. There is a old story and mystery in the story, and the characters in the story understand by Frankie's behavior finally.
The ends of old story is very sad and miserable.

Eleanor's suffering appeared with ghost in this story.

The Canterville Ghost

There are three stories in the book. I think the most interesting story was the Load Arthur Savile's Crime. There are strange stories. They are sad and they also funny.

1.The Canterville Ghost : It is sad because The ghost had lived in Cantervill Chase for three hundred years. He murdered his wife. Then his wife's brother shut him in a room. He starved to death.

It is funny because The ghost tried to frighten The Otis family but they was not afraid of the ghost completely. And they helped the ghost finally.

2.The Model Millionaire: It is sad because Hughie Erskine wanted to marry Laura Merton but he had no money. It is funny because Hughie Erskine gave one pound to a beggar. The beggar was super rich man. He present a cheque for ten thousand pounds. Hughie Erskine could marry Laura Merton.

3.Lord Arthur Savil's Crime: It is sad because Mr Podgers of palmist was dead finally. It is funny because Lord Arthur had believed the palmist and he decided to kill someone He challenged to kill someone but he missed it. Last,he succeed in killing. It was Mr Podgers of palmist.

Unquiet Graves

I read Unquiet Graves.

This is a horror story that a young girl was manipulated by a ghoast. A ghoast was very pitiful.

This book is used very difficult word so I took many time to read this book.

Point for Understanding
In the Hall, Tom sees some Paintings and some silver dishes. Then they disappear. What is happening? Make a guess.

A Ghoast wanted to keep away him.
A Ghoast was a Todd. He want to search Eleanor. He was going to search her to operate Frankie.

If Tom knew that Frankie was operated by Todd, Tom would interfere Todd to operate Frankie. Todd made him frighten and stop searching Frankie but he didn't stop serching Frankie. He is a very courageous boy.

Unquiet Graves

I resd "Unquiet Graves". This story isn't horrer story. I felt mystery story. (= horrer?)

I didn't go to a frightening place. Because I don't like a frightening place.
But my family have the graveyard. That is a old place. (I don't know how long.)
My family graveyard is on the back side of the shrine. There isn't house around the graveyard and shring. It very quiet place.
There is only narrow road from shrine to graveyard.
My family graveyard have abaut 15 grave. My grandfather and grandmather grave is there.
I go to there once of a year.
I think graveyard isn't a frightening place, it's importance (precious?) place.
