Grace Darling

This is the true story of Grace Darling a girl who became a famous heroine in Scotland.This story is described by two scene.

One scene is a passenger's point of view on the Forfarshire. Forfarshire is called a good modern steamship and strong by people, but their engine was too old. Another scene is a young woman's point of view. She works in a lighthouse with her family.

The Forfarshire journeys from Hull to Dundee in Scotland. It came across storm and ship engines was stopped. Then it crashed into rocks and was shipwrecked near coast. there was lighthouse near that Grace Darling works in.
 

And Grace Darling found ship's passengers on rocks. Then she decided to help courageously.

Two scene become one finally. This story is suspensive and interesting.

L.A. Winners

This story begins with a man meets a woman. A man is private detective in L.A. A woman is client.
That woman want to find her horse. And she hired private detective.Her horse has missed when she lend her horse to another man. They didn't come back. The horse was retired horse racing.
The detective looked for her horse. But there were a lot of riddle and had relation to the horse.

This story is described detailedly well. I understand very well. Several scene changed dramatically was interesting to me with had unimaginable next.
I recommend to read this book.

Silver Blaze and Other Stories

This book is made up of stories that Sherlock Holmes and Dr Watson help the police with the strange cases. There are three stories in this book, Silver Blaze is the most interesting.

I predicted stories as follows before I read book at class. Someone will bet one horse at horserace, but He can't win. Then Someone had killed, so It's relation to a horserace.

I read a story actually, I was interesting and be supried. Silver Blaze is horse name and racehorse. This horse's trainer had been murdered. His name is John Straker. The mystery of muder has a unexpected answer. Sherlock Holmes inverstigated and slove with Dr Watson.

I am telling a bit answer, John Straker was thinking a trick and had been killed.

In reality, The murderer is Silver Blaze. Whoa!

The Mark of Zorro

I was astonished when I read the book totally, because The Mark of Zorro was Don Diego who have appeared from the beginning in the story.

When I read the story again, I realized fact that never appeared Don Diego and Zorro at the same time.

This is interesting story.

However I have a only matter that don't understand. Why dose Don Diego became Zorro?

Don Diego's hobby? I think Did Don Diego want to become a hero.

Don Diego could get married with Lolita when unmasked Zorro in the story.

I think he want to get married, so he became a hero.

It's cool.

Seven Stories of Mystery and Horror

Their stories were fear and like a actual story. Horror stories were especially frightening.
I think they are the stories that are read midnight in summer.
But their stories are very short.
If they are so long story, they would frighten us very much.
I don't understand fully because there are lots of word that don't know.

After Reading 5: Which was your favourite story? Why did you like it the best?Write four reasons why you liked the story.

My favourite story is The Masque of the Red Death. It's horror. It a short story but I was frightened.And simply and illogical.
I like this story that has surprising at end of story and I like it incomprehensibly ended.

The Canterville Ghost

There are three stories in the book. I think the most interesting story was the Load Arthur Savile's Crime. There are strange stories. They are sad and they also funny.

1.The Canterville Ghost : It is sad because The ghost had lived in Cantervill Chase for three hundred years. He murdered his wife. Then his wife's brother shut him in a room. He starved to death.

It is funny because The ghost tried to frighten The Otis family but they was not afraid of the ghost completely. And they helped the ghost finally.

2.The Model Millionaire: It is sad because Hughie Erskine wanted to marry Laura Merton but he had no money. It is funny because Hughie Erskine gave one pound to a beggar. The beggar was super rich man. He present a cheque for ten thousand pounds. Hughie Erskine could marry Laura Merton.

3.Lord Arthur Savil's Crime: It is sad because Mr Podgers of palmist was dead finally. It is funny because Lord Arthur had believed the palmist and he decided to kill someone He challenged to kill someone but he missed it. Last,he succeed in killing. It was Mr Podgers of palmist.

The Stranger

This story is strange. The end was frightening.

I don't understand that why was Anna dead. I realized after reading that Dave of the stranger was devil.

Some customer visits to the corner shop that was opened by stranger Dave in village. They desired their success instead of somebody's unfortunate accident, so they requested Dave to make a accident.

The story have not described detail so I am imaging the following. Customers gave him reward such as diamond ring or lot of money, Dave used some stuff such as doll or toy and held a ceremony.It is that he curse at stuff instead of people.

But I have a doubt about customers that why knows Dave.

Where I live - Azusagawa

1. I live in Azusagawa, which is a town in the west of Matsumoto city of Nagano prefecture in Japan. It has a population of approximately 12000 people. It has been combined to Matsumoto city since 2005.

2. It’s a beautiful town, and it has enough nature, mountain and river. There is a big river. It is Azusa River. It runs from Kamikochi and finally runs into the Sea of Japan through Nagano and Niigata. Although my town is rural place that has a lot of farm, it is increasing population recently. Because it has inexpensive land price and is nearby Matsumoto downtown. It is becoming commuter town of Matsumoto.

3. The weather here is dependent on every season. The rain is less than other city nearby coast. The winter can be very cold and dry, and it sometimes snow for days. The summer is not usually too hot. But it’s sometimes can be hot recently. Perhaps the reason is the warming earth.
4. Azusagawa has a lot of apple farm that is most popular in Nagano and these Apples are sending out to all around of Japan. There are a lot of kinds of apple. Above all things, Fuji is the most delicious and popular.

5. But I think the best things about Azusagawa are the atmosphere and the water. They are clean. I can see stars clearly at night in winter. I can drink cold water all the year round.

Recycling

I read this book, I felt again we should think recycling that we don't worry to live on the Earth. In Japan, we are recycling to divide rubbish when we throw away our rubbish recently. They are bins, plastic, cans and so on. But there wasn't this thinking thirty years ago.

I feel the people overeat and drink too much in Japan. There are a lot of resturant and convenience store in Japan, People buy things that more than enough food and drink. The things are packaged more than enough paper and plastic bag also.

I will start to do something for our earth.

Choose something that interests you about recycling. Find some more information about it. Design a bag with a recycling message that shoppers can use.

I think "Don't throw away me".

COMMERCE

I read the book, I remembered the USA recently are occurred economic anxiety by subprime leading. It might occur next the great depression in the world. It means be connected commerce all over the world. I felt a large scale that are made commerce by people. And I felt the commerce have a lot of history.

Circle Games

I read this book. I found common word with five stories on the book. It is "wheel".

The first story is "Quick Man Tan". He hepled a man who had pointed a knife on his face just like a wheel.

The second story is "The Wheel on the Wall". It is an old wooden wheel sits on English pub.

The third story is "Special Clay". Americans young man made the wheel.

The fourth story is "The Trishaw Man", He dorve people around on a three-wheeled trishaw bicycle.

The fifth story is "Beautiful Thing" that is the strange wheel thing. But, I didn't understand connectiron their stories means and the book's title.

Logan's choice

This story is Logan and Grant of two inspector who inspected for Alex Maclennan Murder.I was interesting to read the story, Although It's difficult story that has a lot of characters.Two inspectors inspected to talk much people.so I need to remember the characters all.I have to repeat to read for complete understanding.

This is a heavy story that parts of war.if it is reality story, I think very sad. I understood actual state in country that have fighting.I think the worst people are men, although the innocent children have hurts.

Today, the people don't know about war experience.Our grandfater or grandmather knows it, but they will be lose who has war experience.We have to know misery stories, and We should be we can do good thing for a wold of noting war.
I also post serious impression.

Meet the readers

With a couple of weeks to spare, my lads have polished of their reading books and are ready for more! In a 20 week span, they have read 6 graded readers - the first time any of them have ever picked up an English book. They have blogged their written assignments (see previous postings) and seen the benefits of their labours - better vocabulary retention, interesting stories or biographic information, reviewing grammar points; faster reading (itself a very valuable skill), skimming & scanning; becoming independent learners & tossing away the electronic dictionaries; and the writing component as well.

This my boys have managed on top of busy jobs - we study in company - and on top of their regular homework tasks...which this week is to find a podcast they might want to listen to (starting at BBC) and to report back. I'm hoping my champions will sign up for more punishment (classes oops) from April and that we can continue to do great stuff together!
