Tristan's last letter

Dear Rual,

How are you’ve been? Are you all well? I’m sorry I haven’t written so often. Sometimes I miss you and everything in Lyonesse.

I serve to King Mark as a good knight. I was welcomed by King Mark’s court, and he loved me like his son. He teaches me many things and I always think that I want to be helpful for him. I already fought many battles and I won. A few days before a big man from Ireland came to the castle and he required an unpleasant demand. I fought him. He was very strong but finally I won. I got hurt my leg. It was small wound but unfortunately there was poison on his sword. I’m ill. Doctors in Cornwall can’t cure me. Only The Queen of Ireland can cure it. So I have to go to Ireland. Don’t worry I’ll go there as a minstrel.

In Lyonesse I learnt to play the harp, that helps me. I’ll recover and be back. I promise.

After reading Viking Tales - Utgard writes to Odin

Dear Odin,

Hope you are doing well. Thor and Loki with small human boy named Thialfi visited us without any notice last week. Thor said he came to here, our castle in order to fight us all because he was board and had nothing to do. Fortunately, Skrymir told me they were reaching to our kingdom. We wanted to avoid fighting with Thor, Loki and Thialfi. Thus, we had no way but we used tricks.

Firstly, we took the bones from the table and burned them while Loki was eating all meat. Secondly, we put Hugi’s twin brother at the other end of the field and pretend Hugi had already arrived the goal. Then we used the drinking horn which is connected to the sea so that Thor could not drink it up. And we asked Jormungand to change into a cat. The cat could not be picked up by anyone even though by Thor. They believed some of our friends had a special ability and we won all competitions. We did not have to fight each other in the end.

We appreciate it if you keep them away from our Kingdom so that we can avoid any unnecessary fighting each other.

Sincerely yours,

Utgard

After reading - The Prince & the Pauper

Thank you Edward
Write a thank you letter from a pauper to the King

Dear Edward,

How have you been recently?

I have been very busy because many people come to see me.

I appreciated for you so much that you gave me the title. Everyone is very kind to me and respect me now. I have never imagined I can live such a great life when I was lived in the streets of London.
When we met each other at first time, I was very happy to see you and also was surprised that we look same. I have never noticed about that but you let me recognized when we exchanged our cloths in front of the mirror. As I was hanker for you and your life, Waring beautiful clothes, eating delicious food, sleeping in bed.. All things were very exciting and it was like a dreaming.

While I stay in the palace, I felt so happy but also felt a bit lonely. There was everything in the palace but a few friends who can talk each other openly. Now I am very happy to live my life as Sir Tom and you are to be my best friend. This is all by your favor.

Again, I thank you so much and hope keep in touch in the future.

Best regards,
Tom

Anne of Green Gables - after reading

Dear Marilla,

How are you Marilla?  I feel strange to ask you this question since I was with you yesterday.

It is my first date in Charlottetown.  The dormitory is close to the Queens Academy.  The scenery from my room is totally different from Green Gables.  From my room, I can see the street to Academy.  After I arrived in the town, I went to see the building of Academy.  I am excited to start new college life here.

The people in dormitory are very nice and kind to me.  I am sure I can get along with them and will not get in a trouble like I did in Avonlea.  I will become friends with other students and a good girl in the class room.  Of course, I will study hard to be a teacher like Miss Stacy .  Oh, I cannot wait for tomorrow morning.

I just miss you and Matthew.  I will go to my dearest home at weekends.  I will be able to talk to you about the new friends, new teacher, what I study and Charlottetown.  Please take care of yourself, Marilla.  And, please give my best wishes to Matthew.  I love two of you very much.

With my best regards,

Anne

The Phantom of the Opera - another letter to the Persian

To my friend to my only friend

I have been hungry and disired for love, and now I found it at last. I don`t want anything anymore. Now I don`t regret anymore.
I was born with scaring face. It`s not mother`s fault I know. But my mother scared me,never watched my face and never kissed me. Then she would like hate me gradually.
I prefered and admired beautiful things, buildings, art, music and so on. I made my house in the deep underground of the Opera House secretly. And I remade some secret passages to be able to move freely. I could enjoy watching stageplays as a invisible man.
I have been satisfied this life till I found my Angel, Christine Daae. I was fascinated her voice like songs from heaven. I loved her passionately, then I wanted to marry her.
I tried to eliminate ones to interrupt my action without mercy.
Some time she was going to leave the Opera House for love.
Desparately I took her away from stage and forced her to marry me, you knew that. She said “yes”,and she kissed me voluntarily.
Then the world changed. I lost the reason to stay here, to live more.
I will go somewhere never been in.
Good-bye friend. I`m sorry and thank you for everything.

Eric

The Phantom of the Opera - a letter to the Persian

To the Persian

I am leaving this letter for you, because once you were my friend. Now, of course, I have only enemies. People scream when they see my face. I am clever, it is true, but no woman can ever love me. And how can a man live without love?
When I was a child, I was very unhappy. My mother never kissed me. She didn't want to look at me because I was so ugly. And years later, when I was a man, I did many terrible things. I know that, and I am free now. But I did one sorry thing in my life. Christine is wonderful. She can marry the Vicomte and be happy.
But I can never forget her good voice, and I cannot live without her.
And so, goodbye.
Erik

A farewell thank you

Hi, Damian,

Thank you for all the help you have given me.
I was very bad at English.
English was one of the my poorest.

At beginning of your English classes was honestly very stressful for me.
But, my stress for class got less and less.
Because you listened patiently my wrong English, I could speak English comfortably. I appreciate it.

I am going to have a talk with many person as possible.
I will make an effort to speak English anyway.

I envy you because you can speak several languages.

I will be glad if you could keep in touch me later.

Many thanks,

Takashi

The Orient Express - a strange encounter (II)

Dear Mom.

Hi! I’m heading for Venice. Today, I boarded at Orient Express from London and met two interesting people in the compartment.

First, I met a cute girl who wants to be a musician. She said she got to Europe all the way from New Zealand to major in piano. We had a conversation about music and promised we’d make a performance one day.

And then, I encountered a nice looking guy. He’s from Ivory Coast. He is a magician. Since it was the first time I met a magician, I got interested in his story. He told me he’s heading for Paris and trying to do a great magic trick. He’ll steal Eiffel Tower from Paris! It’s just between you and me…

Anyway, I’ll get to Venetia Santa Lucia Station tomorrow.

I can’t wait to see you.

Sincerely,

Marco

The Orient Express - a strange encounter

Deutsch: Paris: Eiffelturm und Marsfeld
Yet to be stolen (Photo credit: Wikipedia)
Hi Anna,

I’m writing this letter for you in Innsbruck. It’s my first time to travel using the Orient Express. When I was on the train, I met two men. One of them is a student from Argentina. Oh, I forgot his name…  He plays the violin. He looks very young but he was brilliant. I hope he will be famous player in the future. Other man was strange, yes, really strange. He said he will steal the Eiffel Tower and it was secret. The young boy and me promised that we don’t tell anyone his plan. He asked us whether we have taken Oriental Express ever. I told him that it was second time and first time had been honeymoon. But I’m divorced. The strange man also has been experienced. I thought it was serious (adult) problems and I wish the young boy will never meet those problems.

I enjoyed spending time on the train. Of course, I could take nice pictures at Innsbruck.

I’ll send some photos to you as soon as I get arrived my home.

Best regards,

Jenny

Dear Goblins,

Do you know Gollum in the Lord of the Rings? Is he your group? Recently Gollum is the most famous Goblins  all over the world.
The movie made a strong impression on me. His image is very weird and strong.

In USA I heard you are traditionally costume in Halloween. But I have never seen your costume in Halloween in Japan. What are you thinking about this?

If possible please give me e-mail!

Dear elves,

How are you? I have some questions. Have you felt hungry? What do you eat and drink, or you don’t need any food?

I heard you like dancing in moonlight. If I (mankind) want to see dancing, will you welcome me?

You live northern district in the woodlands. Have you wanted to travel in southern warm countries with your magic power?

You live very very long life. Have you been attracted by human being and fell in love? If you have how the matter had gone?

An orang-utan writes: "Hello Sailor!"

Write a letter from the orang-outang to the sailor, telling him how you feel about your time together on the ship and in Paris.

Hi sailor,

I'm writing this letter for you because I ate a nut which is able to understand human languages and write words. I can imagine how you are surprised!!

I try to describe my feeling when I was together you on the ship and in Paris. I would like you to know our true character.

When I met you first time in island of Borneo, I was very scary, afraid of you/ human.. I'd never met like you before. I could not understand what you spoke. Suddenly I was caught by human. I tried to escape from you but I couldn't. It made me really angry since I was uprooted from my home island!! You delivered me on board. It was terrible for me during on the ship. I was in cage which was small for my big body.

I don't know how long I traveled from leaving my home.. At the last, I arrived a place, of corse I didn't know where I was. Some sailor said " We are in Paris". Then I was in your home. There were a lot of staff in your home. I was interested in them. Although you took care me, I wanted to go back to my island. I want living my family freely.

I saw many humans in Paris. I wonder if they mash up me, so I pretend forbidding behavior. Please don't decide our, Orang-outang is dangerous. We are gentle animals.
I hope you never snatch other orang-outang onward.

Whodunit - book review

Dear Adam and Marcos

I really liked your story WHODUNIT because I could not guess who the murder was so it was exciting. There were also lots of suspects and variety of characters so it was very interesting. The story was just the right length for me and I also learned difficult vocabulary like frame, attorney, coroner and warrant. The puzzle was tricky so it was fun doing it. The CD gave more information of the crime so it helped me to guess who the murder was.
I think there is nothing I want change about these stories.

I think I did become a better reader by reading this book. I learned lots of new vocabulary and I went back to check. I used my imagination reading the story and I also predicted what would happen next while reading. I always wanted to read more and finish reading because the story was really clever.
I really enjoyed reading this story and I would like to read more by you.

Sincerely,

TK
