Holland's Education (part2)

How to give a good education to children between the ages of 5 and 12 years old.

Hollands elementary school classes have some interesting teaching methods. I visited an elementary school in Utrecht. The school was famous for its teaching method "The Jeana Plan". The teachers give a kind of liberal education. In this school there are no walls of class. All students are divided into 3 groups.

Group1: 1st and 2nd graders, 5 year olds and also contains some 4 year olds
Group2: 3rd, 4th and 5th graders
Group3: 6th, 7th and 8th graders, 8th graders are 12 years old

In each group elder children take leadership of the younger ones, and help teach.

Younger children are taught and helped by the older ones, obey them etc. They grow up giving each other good affection.

They are given subjects or themes which they should do or solve in a day, in a week or in a month etc.
Main subjects are arithmetic, English (reading and writing), calculation, sports ability. They also teach World Orientation. It is important for children in that school. In that class the children learn Human Rights, Environment (surroundings) Philosophy, such as Why were you born in this earth? thinking and talking about What can you do in this world? What do you want to do for yourself? How to live not depending on others?
These questions above are taught in a very easy way, understandably.

This is taken as the main important thing in the Jena Plan. They talk about them together, making a ring about what happens in the world now?
They act them out in dramas, do games, write poems etc, and they invite their parents to hold an announcement party.
